The Site Safety Plus Scheme provides the building, civil engineering and related industries with a range of courses for people seeking to develop skills in this area.At the basic level the 1-day HSA (Health and Safety Awareness) course is the preferred certificate that Laborers are required to have to enable them to apply for the Laborer’s ‘Green’ CSCS cards.
The course gives delegates an awareness of health and safety and how it affects their daily role.
Site Safety Plus Scheme is a level 1 award in health and safety course in the construction environment which is recognized as an equivalent to the IOSH Working safely. Delegates who successfully complete the above course can apply for a construction skills certificate scheme (CSCS) green laborer card once they have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Operatives Test.

Successful delegates receive a certification for Site Safety Plus course which is valid for 5 years. Delegates are requires to retake the course before expiry to remain certified otherwise will have to redo the course again. Click on the link to learn more on the scheme rules.
Successful Delegates may choose to progress to either a 2 Day Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) training course or 5 Day Site Manager Safety Training Scheme(SMSTS) training course depending on job role.
