Asbestos is an extremely hazardous substance that can cause serious ill-health issues to anyone who disturbs it. The effects of the asbestos fibres may not appear until years after the initial inhalation, however, Asbestosis (the disease that occurs from inhaling disturbed asbestos) is responsible for around 4000 deaths a year.
Due to the importance of human health, being aware of Asbestos Containing Materials and how they can affect you is vital. This course has been developed to ensure all delegates are aware of the risks of ACM’s and to make sure they do not disturb the asbestos fibres.
The UKATA accredited Asbestos Awareness for Managers course covers everything the delegate will need to know to safely manage asbestos and be aware of the overall risks of the management of asbestos. The 1 day course will outline the importance of Asbestos Management and the risks associated with it, whilst fulfilling their duties under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012) . To undertake this course, the delegate is not required to do any preparation. All successful delegates will receive a UKATA Asbestos Awareness CAT A Certificate.
